How to Pack for Spring Break on 30A

It’s almost time for spring break on 30A, which means beach days, bike rides and the best coastal cuisine! Before swimming in the Gulf and exploring the charming beach communities comes the not-so-fun part: packing. This guide will help ease the process and ensure that you don’t forget anything for your next 30A vacation.

Coastal, Casual Clothing

The beach towns along 30A are pretty casual, so you’ll probably spend most of your time in a swimsuit or comfortable shorts, T-shirt and sandals. However, if you do plan on going to a fancy restaurant for dinner, you might want to bring something a little nicer. Here’s a quick list to get you started:

  • Two swimsuits (so that you always have a dry one!)

  • Swimsuit cover-up

  • Sundress

  • Shorts

  • T-shirts and tank tops

  • Sandals and sneakers

  • Pajamas

  • Underwear and socks

  • Accessories: hat, sunglasses, beach bag

It’s also helpful to inquire about whether or not your 30A vacation rental has a washing machine and dryer for you to use during your stay. This will help determine how much of everything you need to bring.

Everyday Toiletries

Pack travel-sized containers with your everyday essentials such as lotion, shampoo, face wash and more. Most importantly, make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen. If you’re packing a bottle left over from previous summers, make sure it’s not past the expiration date. A painful sunburn can easily ruin your spring break on 30A. For those prone to burning, aloe vera gel is always good, too!

To make sure everyone in your family stays safe and healthy during the vacation, pack vitamins, medications, antibacterial wipes, hand sanitizer, insect repellant and a travel-sized first aid kit.

Beach and Pool Day Essentials

Now for the fun part: the beach! There are a handful of must-have items to make sure you have the ultimate beach day on 30A. Here at My Vacation Haven , we want you to pack less and play more. Many of our vacation rentals include a Beach Closet stocked with complimentary beach chairs, boogie board, umbrella and sand toys for use during your stay. Here are additional items you should consider packing:

The Basics
First of all, remember to bring a tote bag or large beach bag to carry all of your beach day essentials. Beach wagons are also helpful for wheeling all of your supplies from your vacation rental to the coastline. Families with small children will especially find these helpful!

To create the perfect setup in the sand, you’ll want to bring beach chairs, towels and an umbrella or canopy for some shade.

Entertainment
While you sunbathe on the sugar-white sand and gaze at the Gulf, you may want to read a good book or listen to music or podcast. Headphones or portable speakers are always handy to have in your beach bag.

And don’t forget entertainment for kids! Sand toys like buckets and shovels will entertain them for hours. More active vacationers may also want to bring goggles, snorkel equipment, a stand up paddleboard, floats, boogie boards and Frisbee or football.

Food and Drinks
It’s important to stay hydrated while you’re out in the sun, so don’t forget to bring a reusable water bottle that you can fill at your 30A vacation rental and take with you. If you plan on staying at the beach all afternoon, snacks and a lunch are also additions to your cooler.

Equipment for Adventurous Activities
