Things to Do

Every season can be beach season, not just the summer! With cooler temperatures, stunning sunsets, and exciting events, fall is a wonderful time of year to visit the Emerald Coast. We have a few suggestions on what you can do after summer has faded into a fond, but distant memory.

  • Watch the Captivating Sunsets

Emerald Coast sunsets seem to be even more vibrant in the fall. Prepare to be mesmerized by the colors along the sky’s horizon as the sun slowly dips into the water. Bring along your chair (from your My Vacation Haven Beach Closet!), beverage of choice, a couple of friends, and it’s a beach party!

  • Explore Local Hiking Trails

While summer can be too hot and humid for some activities, fall is the ideal time of year to enjoy quality time outdoors with your favorite people. There are a number of hiking spots in the Destin and Scenic 30A areas, so do a little research in advance and pick the best choice for your group.

  • Take a Bike Tour Along Scenic 30A

One of our favorite things to do as locals is bike along Scenic 30A after the summer season has ended. The weather is great, there are less crowds, and there are bike paths along the entire stretch of highway. There are tons of places to rent bikes if your vacation rental does not include them. We have several local businesses who have partnered with our team to provide discounts to our guests. Contact one of them and start planning your exploration today!

  • Check out Fall Festivals and Events

As the weather cools down, event season heats up! It’s a great time of year to be outdoors, so the calendar is filled with festivals, local events, and lots of outdoor entertainment. If you still need a haven for the Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival, the Destin Seafood Festival, or Moon Crush, we have something to fit your needs. Seaside is hosting a red wine festival later this year and there’s still time to get a haven for the Emerald Coast Spirits Festival in the 30A area.

  • Grab Some Seasonal Produce at the Local Farmers’ Markets

Many locals and tourists prefer to shop the year round Farmers’ Markets in the fall because the weather is cooler. As luck would have it, you can shop numerous Farmers’ Markets in the area and find some of the best fresh vegetables, seafood, cold pressed juices, homemade bread, and handmade products around. There is a weekly Farmer’s Market held at Grand Boulevard, Watersound, Seaside, and Rosemary Beach, to name a few options. These markets can be a source of some fresh goodies for those delightful family recipes!

As you can probably see, we love fall along the Emerald Coast and know you will also! Whether you can only sneak away for a few days or have a little longer vacation in mind, My Vacation Haven offers rentals to suit the needs of everyone. Our Winter Special is also happening now, so be sure to check it out!
