Water Activities:
Beaching
On the Emerald Coast Vacation, your dad can basically fall out of bed and go tanning, swimming, surfing, etc. Have we already said swimming? Anyway you got the idea. Beaches are everywhere.
Kayaking
There are several places to rent kayaks. The Kayak Experience is located right on the Destin Harbor (on Hwy 98) and offers kayak rental and sales. Kayaking is a fun activity and a great workout!
Surfing
The best places to surf are: on Okaloosa Island, right before the Destin bridge (ocean side, of course), and in front of the Boardwalk. If you don’t have your own board, or need lessons, there are plenty of surf shops in Destin. In addition, most also offer kite sailing lessons and equipment.
Fishing
The access to deep water and the plentiful fish population make the Emerald Coast an angler’s dream. Whether he is interested in near shore or deep sea fishing, there is an abundance of places along the Emerald Coast. Snorkeling & Scuba Diving
There are a lot of great places to snorkel here as well! Let him discover the Under Water World with Scuba & Snorkeling, look at marine life, reefs and hidden treasures along the Emerald Coast. The easiest and most enjoyable way to snorkel is to go on a snorkeling boat trip. There are many places that offer these, such as A.J.’s. It’s a great activity not only for adults, but for kids as well. If he wants to go snorkeling on his own, a good place for it is near the Destin jetties on Holiday Isle. He can easily walk to the beach from there. In fact, most snorkeling boats make regular stops near the jetties!
Father’s Day Cruise
Mark your calendars because Father’s Day is June 19th! Cruise Through Father’s Day on the SOLARIS Yacht! Boating
Emerald Coast sunshine, balmy breezes and time with friends and family; what could be more fun and enjoyable than that? Boating is a stress-free and relaxing activity and a great way to spend your recreational time. Florida State has over 8,000 miles of coastline and 4,500 square miles of inland waterways, making it a paradise for boaters. From mega-yachts to wooden skiffs, having a boat is as normal as having a car for some Floridians. There is a very popular place next to the bridge from Okaloosa Island to Destin where hundreds of boats stop in the summer and people swim. It’s a huge floating party.
