Big Kahuna is a water park located in Destin, Florida, which opened in 1986. It has been Destin’s one and only water park for over 25 years. The park is primarily a water park, however it also features several thrill ride attractions and a miniature golf course.
With over 40 different water play areas, rides, slides, and pools, Big Kahuna’s is the perfect water park destination for families, it offers something for every member. Kowabunga Racer
Grab your speed mat and meet at the starting line! Kowabunga Raceris a 4-lane drag strip plunging nearly five stories on a downhill racecourse the length of a football field. Racers start off side by side and then disappear in and out of twisting, coiling tubes, then explode into the sunlight…right before a breathtaking drop to a splash landing below.
Bombs Away Bay
The tropical oasis with something for everyone from slides to pools to waterfalls and its own pirate ship that adds a fantasy world for young splashers. Water depth ranges from 0 feet to 5 feet.
Hammerhead
Two slides that start on top of the Temple of Doom and take you on a curving ride where everyone is sure to get wet.
Monkey River
What do you get when you add twists, 360-degree turns and water to a slide? Monkey River!
Raging Rhino River
Enjoy the adventure of sloping rapids, twists and turns that take you through chutes and our lush landscape deep in the heart of the Big Kahuna’s before splashing down into Humunga River.
Cobra Twister
Twist into the lazy river on this slide. Slow and casual; just right for the faint of heart.
Honolulu Half Pipe
If catching the perfect wave is your thrill, then we guarantee that wave, non-stop and always flowing. Imagine a continuous wave that moves 17,000 gallons of water per minute.
Thunder River
Curves, twists and drops that take you down a hill through the heart of the park, traveling through falls and turns. Guests enjoy one of our most popular attractions while relaxing on a tube.
Jumanji
Imagine lying on your back sliding over 70 feet fueled by pure adrenaline in free-fall-darkness. This unique feeling and experience can only be found on Jumanji!
Maui Pipeline Slides
Feel the rush of “free fall” from the Maui Pipeline speed slides. These three slides are definitely for thrill seekers, taking you up to high speeds and bringing you to an exciting wet stop.
Tiki River Run
Slide down the Tiki River Run by yourself or with a friend. There are twists, tunnels and turns that take you through exciting waterfalls to a splash down pool.
Kid’s Rides & Slides
Piranha, Blue Mamba, Tahiti Twister & Hydro Max. The little ones need fun too. These slides are nested together and are perfect for all who enjoy the quiet escape.
Crocodile Flats
The twirling slides of Crocodile Flats thrill little ones with a splash into the basin below where an abandoned ship awaits with a surprise.

Pleasure Island is a kid-sized paradise complete with a passing waterfall, low depth pools, and lots of slides sized just right for the little ones.

Tropical Mini Golf
Big Kahuna’s picturesque tropical mini golf has 54 challenging holes on three unique courses. Landscaped with beautiful flowers, sculpted trees and several waterfalls, our majestic courses wind over wooden bridges, through caves and under a dense flora canopy. Each course has creative obstacles and authentic wooden Tiki heads, which guard the holes and protect golfers from a stroke of bad luck.
Sky Coaster
This thrill ride hangs you 100-feet in the air and lets you reach speeds of up to 60 mph while flying & swooping towards the ground.

Know Before You Go…
- We strongly recommend that minors (under 18) be accompanied by an adult. Park does not assume any responsibility or liability for unattended minors.
- Save time, buy online! Get your daily admission tickets online and take your confirmation straight to the turnstiles to bypass the line at the ticket booths.
- No printer? No problem! Just show your confirmation barcode on your mobile device at the turnstiles.
- Parking fee is $5.00 per vehicle per day. Bus parking is free with group reservation.
- No outside food or beverages allowed in the Park. We have a wide variety of options available at the Gulfview Food Court and Bombs Away Bay Cafe.
- Re-entry into the Park is free for the day of ticket redemption.
- Group discounts are available with advance reservation only. For information, contact Group Sales at 850 837-8319, ext. 30.
- No cameras or video devices are allowed on our rides or slides.
- We have two designated smoking areas inside the Park.
- Sorry, no pets allowed in the Park.
- No rental fee on tubes or life jackets Life Jackets (Infant to adult sizes, Available throughout the park)
- Cabana rentals can be reserved in advance online or at the park the day of your visit. We cannot take reservations over the phone.
- Lockers are available for rent in three different sizes inside the Park.
- Don’t forget your towel and sunscreen! But if you do, just come see us at the Island Trading Co. store for these essentials plus clothing, jewelry, and souvenirs of all kinds.
- Children ages 2 and under are complimentary. No need to buy a daily ticket or a season pass for them.
- Twilight Admission Late admission discount starts 3 hours prior to closing.
Food & Snacks
The Gulf View Food Court
Centrally located at the top of the park includes our Pizza Kitchen, Grille area and Snacks Galore. Aside from the usual Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, French Fries and Pizza, you will also find great Bar-B-Que Pork Sandwiches, Bratworst Dogs, Crab bite sandwiches and healthier items like Chicken Caesar Wraps and perfectly-grilled Chicken Sandwiches. The Snack Counter includes Pickles, Pretzels, Popcorn and Nachos. On the sweet side we have a variety of Gelato Soft Serve Ice Cream and Funnel Cakes Sticks. Throughout the park you can find Pepsi Products Non-Alcoholic Daiquiris as well as Dippin Dots Ice Cream. For the Adults they offer Budweiser Products and Alcoholic Daiquiris.
The Bombs Away Café
Located on the back side of the park, offers a full array of menu items: Pizza, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Corn Dogs, Chicken Tenders, Chili Cheese Fries and Nachos. They also offer Chicken and Hamburger Sliders and Chicken Chunks served with French Fries or Fruit Cup and a small drink. Throughout the park we offer Pepsi products non-alcoholic daiquiris as well as Dippin Dots Ice Cream. For the Adults they offer Budweiser products and Alcoholic Daiquiris.
The Cove
Located next to “Crocodile Flats,” is where you’ll find quick items such as Hot Dogs, Chicken Caesar Wraps, Pretzels, and an assortment of Novelty Ice Creams. For the adults they have Budweiser products and frozen daiquiris.
