Beach Workout Tips To Keep You Fit on Your Trip 

Staying in shape during your vacation doesn’t have to be a struggle. There are numerous ways to exercise at the beach while having fun with your friends and family. Whether it’s sunrise yoga, running along the coastline or carrying buckets full of sand as you make sandcastles with your kiddos, here are some tips for staying fit on your next vacation.  

Recharge Your Mind and Body with Beach Yoga

Whether you want to flow solo or join a group, yoga is a popular way to exercise at the beach. There are several companies along the Gulf Coast that offer classes throughout the week, such as Destin Beach Yoga , or you can bring your own mat to the beach. There’s nothing like a sun salutation sequence on the sugar-white sand to start the day!

Get a Full Body Workout by Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Stand up paddle boarding is a great way to exercise at the beach. It involves upper body training, legwork and core strength. Best of all—it’s fun! You’ll get to paddle across the crystal clear water of the Gulf of Mexico, look for dolphins and other sea life and soak up the Florida sunshine all while working out. Go Running on the Sand

Set Up a Relay Race with Yours Kids 

Get creative with your beach workouts! A relay race can be exercise for you and entertainment for your kids! Try filling up plastic buckets with sand or salt water and running from the shoreline to your beach chairs. Add in some bicep curls or squats to really give your muscles a workout! 

Just Keep Swimming

Stay Hydrated!

The most important thing to keep in mind as you exercise at the beach is to stay hydrated! With the warm weather, high humidity and constant sunshine, it’s easy to get dehydrated. Drink plenty of water and bring a water bottle with you that you can refill throughout the day. Eating foods that are high in water content, such as watermelon and cucumbers, will also help keep you hydrated.
