Visit Emerald Coast this November!

A delightful time of year to visit Emerald Coast is during the fall. The humidity and heat of the summer has ended but the gulf still remains warm enough to take a refreshing plunge into the jeweled waters along the area’s beautiful beaches. Most days are sunny and delightfully dry with average temperatures ranging from the lower 80s during the day to the upper 50s at night. In a word, the weather is “perfect.” This time of the year coincides with masses of colorful butterflies that arrive in to the area for a casual stay as they migrate south to avoid the winter’s cold up north. Romantic spectacular sunsets occur right over the gulf, traffic is nearly non-existent, little to no wait at restaurants and best of all rental rates at My Vacation Haven are well-priced! Substantial savings can be found in our Emerald Coast vacation rentals compared to the spring and summer season when they are significantly higher. Besides the great weather and significant vacation rental discounts available during the fall there are also some fun events that coincide with this special season. One is exercising the body for athletes who want to race for a good cause, the other is watching cultural entertainment and the third is well…shall we say enjoying sipping the fruits of culture.

1. The third annual
30A 10K Race and One Mile Fun Run is scheduled for Thanksgiving Day on November 27, 2014. This annual event will benefit worthy local charities including The Emerald Coast Children’ s Advocacy House and Shelter Center, a Domestic and Violence Center as well as Donations for Danny. These donations will be coming from a $75 registration fee to participate in the 10K Race and $35 to be a part of the One Mile Fun Run. Their three days of events focus on fun, family activities such as breakfast with “Lucky” the 30A 10K turkey mascot; family games and music at their Fall Festival at Watersound Origins; and, of course, their signature event, the 30A 10K and 1 mile fun run in Rosemary Beach on Thanksgiving Day morning. The race kicks off Thanksgiving morning at 7:30 am in the center of Rosemary Beach, Florida. The course will leave Rosemary Beach and loop back to the same location along Scenic 30A which offers a fairly flat run with gorgeous gulf views near Camp Creek Lake. An awards ceremony will follow back in Rosemary Beach after the race has concluded. Each year, this event grows with more participants, more family activities and more race swag. Don’t miss out on this amazing event!

2. The fifteenth annual
MountainFilm Festival will once again be stopping at South Walton’s WaterColor Resort on November 6th & 7th 2015. Two days of extraordinary films created to inspire courage, thought and empathy. The film festival begins at 6 pm on the grounds of this beautiful community and the films will be shown under the star studded skies beginning at 7 pm. Attendees bring their own chairs and blankets to enjoy this wonderful annual event which showcases special current films about adventure, life lessons and the environment. A number of film features, short films and revivals will be shown representing award winning artists from throughout the world. The mission of these films is to encourage positive changes in life through education which uses striking imagery as well as inspirational stories of perseverance. No pets, food or outside beverages will be allowed past the festival gates. However there will be ample food, beer and wine venues available on the grounds. Click here for more info.
