Ruth’s Chris Steak House at Silver Shells Resort in Destin will host its 3rd Annual Fall Wine Walkabout to benefit Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation’s 20th anniversary season on Thursday, November 12 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the East Bar and Courtyard. Chef Ruston Johnson has created a special menu featuring multiple culinary stations with heavy hors d’oeuvres paired with select fine wines courtesy of a variety of distributors. Flutterby Festival at Rosemary Beach – November 14 & November 15th from 10am – 4pm
The annual Flutterby Festival is returning to Rosemary Beach Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 14 & 15, from 10am-4pm. Flutterby Festival celebrates the arts and the migration of the Monarch Butterfly along Scenic Highway 30A. Flutterby is a childrens arts festival… it’s a place for kids to flitter! And it’s a beautiful fall tradition in South Walton. As part of the annual tradition, children create their own butterfly wing masterpieces to wear in the butterfly costume parade each afternoon. Kids will also enjoy using their creativity to build other butterfly crafts. Celebrating art and nature, hundreds of butterfly paintings created by Walton County students will be on display throughout the festival. The Flutterby Festival is a fun event for kids of all ages. Tickets are non-refundable. Parking is very limited, please use public areas on County Highway 395 or along road where available and not blocking driveways or streets. During the tours, take a walk through the gate modeled after old-west saloon doors and follow the boardwalk across the front yard to experience the dark grey cottage with its original porch railing still intact. The tour continues into the cottage to the open living space and to the 600 square foot addition on the back of the house. Ultimately, the tour ends in the added two-car garage where you can pick up information on products and services that inspire – to create new looks for your own home. The Coastal Living Beach Cottage is the first-ever remodel project to be featured. The 2,500 square-foot beach cottage in Seagrove, Florida will be transformed. Design duo Mark and Paige Schnell are Seagrove natives and purchased the cottage with a vision for a cozy family dwelling. Mark, an architect, and Paige, an interior designer, have partnered with Artisan Builds to create a serene beach retreat full of design inspiration. Paige’s style merges European sensibilities with Southern charm and an appreciation for architectural details.
The Schnell home will be featured in Coastal Living magazine in the upcoming December-January issue as the 2015 Coastal Living Beach Cottage.

Chicken & Waffle Brunch Hydrobike Cruise to The Bay for Sunday Brunch – Weekly – from 10am – 2pm

Emerald Coast Hydrobikes is hosting a brunch cruise on the Choctawhatchee Bay each Sunday. Meet up at Tom’s Landing in Point Washington and cruise on hydrobikes across the Choctawhatchee Bay to The Bay Restaurant for Sunday brunch including Chicken and Waffles, bloody mary or mimosa. The cruise is about 30 minutes. The day’s event is 3-4 hours of fun adventure on the water and at The Bay. The cost is $60 per person and includes your hydrobike rental, brunch and a drink (gratuity not included. You must reserve your spot by Saturday at 5pm. For kids not quite tall enough for pedaling the hydrobike (need to be nearly 5 feet tall), a tandem bike can be attached to parent bike. For smaller children, please discuss with Emerald Coast Hydrobikes. Hydrobikes are quiet and environmentally friendly pedal powered watercraft. Biking on water is easy for everyone on a stable craft made to stay upright in almost any condition. The Grand Boulevard Farmers Market sets up every Saturday year round (and Wednesdays Memorial Day-Labor Day) from 9am–1pm at Grand Park, between Cantina Laredo and Tommy Bahama. The outdoor market will feature dozens of unique vendors offering locally sourced food items, such as produce, eggs, milk, cream, butter, grass-fed beef, chicken, lamb, pork, local honey, pickled vegetables, and gourmet jams. On the artisanal and green side, Grand Boulevard Farmers Market will offer flowers, herbs, soaps, and lotions.
