A few ways to celebrate the President’s Day along the Emerald Coast!

American Flag

President’s Day, also known as Washington’s Birthday, is on the third Monday of February. It not only honors George Washington, the first President of the United States, and Abraham Lincoln whose both birthdays are in February, but honors all the presidents. It is a federal holiday although most businesses are open except the Post Office. Spice up this upcoming Presidents’ Day Weekend with the following events.

27th Annual Gumbo Festival
Kick-off the weekend Friday, February 12, at Fat Tuesday with a delicious Baytowne® Seafood Boil starting at 4 p.m. On Saturday, February 13, from 12 – 4 p.m., guests will enjoy live Zydeco music, family activities and the best gumbo cook-off on the Gulf Coast. Enjoy great food, beverages, live entertainment and much more.

Island Dance Party
This event takes place on Feb 13 between 6 PM – 12 AM @ the Emerald Coast Convention Center
(1250 Miracle Strip Pkwy SE Fort Walton Beach, FL). “Dance through the years” to music by the Emerald Gold Band playing favorites from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s! Join a night of exciting live music and entertainment. Catch up with old friends and make new ones. Proceeds will benefit the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Additional fees may apply.
